On August 15th, Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School kicked off the school’s Corporate Work Study Program with ‘Draft Day’:
The room was packed with students, proud family members, and executives from 43 top Atlanta businesses, including The Coca-Cola Company, Cox Communications, Delta Air Lines, Home Depot, and UPS.
Fox 5 News anchor Russ Spencer emceed the event, introducing the companies, while Director of Admissions Lina Monsalve-Bonilla called the names of students as they were “drafted” by their respective employers.
Once drafted, students received their new company t-shirts and hats, a photo with company executives, and enthusiastic applause from everyone in the audience–including us! Cristo Rey Atlanta was the first official “Red Fork Studio” client, and it has been a tremendous honor and delight to support the new school’s efforts.
About Cristo Rey Atlanta
Cristo Rey Atlanta is part of the Cristo Rey Network, an award-winning network of schools that provides a rigorous Catholic high school education to students of all faiths, at a fraction of the cost of a typical private school. Cristo Rey Network schools combine challenging college preparatory curriculums with supportive learning environments and the innovative Corporate Work Study Program.
Through the Corporate Work Study Program, Cristo Rey Network students work 5 full days a month at top local businesses, sharing entry-level jobs with 3 other students. The program allows students to earn the majority of the cost of their own education, and gain valuable real-world skills, contacts, and work experience. Cristo Rey Network students also go on to college in record numbers, in large part because of their early exposure to the working world.
